Arav completed his schooling from Kamala Niketan Montessori School in Trichy. Later, he started attending the Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, Chennai where he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Arav’s father was a professor at the Trichy Government Law College, hence, prompting their need to move to Trichy.
After completing his schooling, Arav decided to shift to Chennai to study at the Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science.
Straight out of college, Arav sat for the Civil Service Exams.
In the past, he worked with Daimler India Commercial Vehicles and later found his place with multinational company Apollo Tyres.
Arav was introduced to modeling through a professional photographer named V. S. Anandhakrishna who he met on Facebook. Anandhakrishna got Arav his first modeling shoot with a brand based in Dubai.
It is said that Arav has been featured in more than 300 print and TV commercials. He is also an established model in the South Indian modeling industry.
Since he began his career in 2014, Arav has worked with many distinguished actors like Dulquer Salmaan and Vijay Antony.
His first major role was in the film Saithan in 2016.
In 2017, he became the first contestant to win the Bigg Boss Tamil. He was given a cash price of INR 50 lakhs. Following him in 2nd place was lyricist and poet Snehan.
Back in his hometown in Trichy, he is known as Nafeez Kizar.
Arav considers his teacher Geethanjali, who taught him at Kamala Niketan Montessori School to be a great influence. He also graciously presented her with his trophy that he won at Bigg Boss Tamil in 2017. It was she who forced him to perform on stage.
He is described as a short-tempered and shy kind of person by his friends.
Arav had been living up to his acting dream ever since he was a school. He even put up a wonderful act despite having joined a school production at the 11th hour.
Besides being a talented actor and model, he is also a singer.
In the past, Arav heeded his parent’s request to prepare for the IAS examinations and did so. However, he opted out of it to pursue his career as an actor.
Arav’s closest friend is Akila who studied with him in grade 11.
